Abby Kanter received her B.A. from Smith College and her M.A.T. from Fairleigh Dickenson University. Since 1978, she has taught Spanish at Dwight-Englewood School in Englewood, New Jersey.

About her highly acclaimed upper level Spanish book she said, “I wrote ENCUENTROS MARAVILLOSOS because I believe that authentic literature can provide stronger, more personal motivation for students to express themselves in the target language than other topics I had found in text books. In addition, I wanted to create a text in which grammar is presented in a meaningful context, one which engages the students' interest and imagination.”
